From the top of this cliff, the view is impressive, plunging down into the gorges and meanders of the Tarn. In a single glance, you can see the Détroits gorge , the Cirque des Baumes and the Pas du Soucy, the three great wonders of the Tarn Cañon. Access and directions: how to reach Point Sublime?
Open all year round, the site is easily accessible by car:
- From Les Vignes or La Malène on the D46.
- From Causse de Sauveterre via Saint-Georges-de-Lévéjac.
- You can also arrive from La Canourgue, Le Massegros or Chanac.
Pay parking – free for the first 15 minutes – is available on site. From here, it’s a 600 m walk along a well-maintained path to the viewpoint.
The more athletic will climb directly from the river to Baumes Basses or Hilaire.
Accommodation: where to stay to explore the Gorges du Tarn?
For a comfortable stay in the Gorges du Tarn, Camping Les Calquières is an ideal base for visiting Point Sublime. From the campsite, follow signs for “Le Massegros – Gorges du Tarn” (D995). At Le Massegros, follow signs for Point Sublime (D32 and D46).
