Visit the Aubrac de l’Aubrac
Splendor in the wild
From the Les Calquières campsite, discover the Aubrac on the Aveyron, Cantal and Lozère sides…
When you think Aubrac, the famous aligot comes to mind, but that’s not all!
Bordered by the Grands Causses, this volcanic plateau with an average altitude of 1,000 meters will amaze you with its uniqueness, its landscapes of rare beauty and its unique flora and fauna.
Between forests, pastures and meadows, discover a mosaic of different habitats, such as the traditional “Burons”, small houses with Lauze roofs once used to make cheese, and the herds of beautiful “Aubrac” cows.
Between natural lakes and streams, wild splendour awaits you!

Vacations near
of the Aubrac plateau
In the heart of this magnificent, meditative plateau, you may be surprised to come across a pilgrim with a scallop shell hanging from his backpack. But that’s not surprising, as Aubrac is an important stage on one of the 4 paths to Compostela (Via Podiensis). After your hike, take time to visit the churches of Nabisnals, Aubrac and Saint-Urcize, before buying a delicious cheese and knife in a certain village called Laguiole. Fancy a spa treatment to relax your muscles after your long walks? Head for Chaudes-Aigues or La Chaldette, two renowned spas on the Aubrac plateau. Aubrac is a hiker’s paradise, set between massifs and high plateaus at altitudes of over 1400 metres.
In May, come and join in the traditional Transhumance festival, when the herds of Aubrac beauties take to the road, decked out in flowers and other fireworks!
